Ice Cap

Ice Cap is an enemy found in Section 3 - Hell's Forest. When approached, it will rapidly spin clockwise around Kris, constantly closing the gap until the fight begins. If a Ice Cap has been killed 2 times, it will simply run away from Kris.

It will start the battle as Hostile, and it will become Enraged after certain ACTs. It has a very high resistance to ICE damage, including Noelle's Ice Shock.

After stealing its hat, it will turn into an harmless cube of Ice, unable to attack but being extremely vulnerable to any non-ICE damage.

Attacks

• Top hat-like objects appear at the bottom of the screen and shoot chunks of ice upwards, which fall back down after a bit of a delay.
  • While Enraged, the top hats will appear more frequently.
• Waves enclose the top and bottom of the screen with a zig-zagging path between them that can be dodged by simply moving up and down slightly in a rhythm, or staying still at a safe height near the middle of the screen, where neither the top wall nor the bottom wall can reach.
  • While Enraged, the waves will enclose much more, requiring precise movement to properly dodge them.

Mercy

• Ignore will make Ice Cap annoyed for ignoring its hat. After using it a second time, it will make Ice Cap Enraged, increasing the intensity of its attacks.
• XIgnore will immediately make Ice Cap enraged. It requires Susie and Noelle's turns.
  • Both ACTs, when used while Ice Cap is Enraged, will revert it to being only Hostile, but allowing to steal it's hat.

• Steal will allow to steal Ice Cap's hat after ignoring it enough, trasforming it into Ice and removing its Hostile state.
• Compliment and N-Action will fill Ice's MERCY bar by 100%. Otherwise they have no effect besides flavor text when used on Ice Cap.
• S-Action will make Ice tired. No effect when used against Ice Cap besides flavor text.

Strategy

For Mercy, the first step is ignoring Ice Cap's hat enough to make it Enraged (either using Ignore twice, or XIgnore once), then ignoring it one more time to make it vulnerable to the Steal ACT. Stealing its hat will trasform Ice Cap into Ice, which can be then be spared after filling it's MERCY bar with either Compliment or N-Action (with Steal + Compliment and Susie sparing as a one-turn spare combination).

Alternatively, lowering Ice Cap's HP low enough will also make it sparable, despite not getting rid of its Hostile state.

For fighting, it can be considered to use the above method for turning Ice Cap into Ice; at this state it is unable to attack and be killed by any attacks in a single hit, with exception to Ice Shock, due to its high ICE resistance.
