Forest of Wild Beasts
The Forest of Wild Beasts is a major location that the Delta Warriors visit in Section 3- Hell's Forest. It's a slightly deeper part of Desolate Snowdin Forest consisting of various paths and a house that a rabbit family lives in to avoid Sans (GG!Underfell) and Papyrus (GG!Underfell).
The forest itself is much darker than the rest of Desolate Snowdin - so dark that a human (like Kris) needs to bring a torch in order to see properly. Monsters have better eyesight than humans and can see better[1], though they may still struggle with visibility.[2] A torch can be found at the forest's northern ladder, which can be carried by Kris and placed in sconces. Walking through the forest without a torch will cause Kris, Susie and Noelle to start glowing their respective neon colors, though they will not emit any light.
The Forest of Wild Beasts seems to be able to turn monsters into a feral state, because the Snowdrakes and a Chilldrake become known as a "Feraldrake", who start drooling and have unusual eating habits. They also do not respond to anything that the Delta Warriors do or say, unless they get hit by them.
Throughout the Forest of Wild Beasts, there are 4 different ladder pieces scattered around. The first one is found after the first Feraldrake fight, 2 are found within the forest, and one can be found at a cliff overlooking the rest of Desolate Snowdin. The 2 ladder pieces found in the forest cannot be picked up if Kris doesn't have a torch.
After the eastern ladder is repaired, the Forest of Wild Beasts become bright enough to see in without a torch. If the player is not on the Obliteration Route nor was it aborted earlier, then one of the rabbits from inside the house start walking around the forest.
Main Locations
Bunny House
A cabin/inn in the forest that a family of rabbits, including Q.C. (GG!Underfell), live in. Inside is a SAVE point and 2 bedrooms. The house's doors and windows have been heavily boarded up, likely to prevent intruders like GG!Underfell Sans and the Feraldrakes from getting in. You can't take the torch in here, though there are 2 sconces that you can place it in directly outside the cabin.
Cliff
Heading southeast leads to the cliff, which overlooks a large portion of Desolate Snowdin. A ladder piece can be found here, though you can only grab it after getting the other 3 first. After picking it up, the trio will be ambushed by GG!Underfell Sans.
If the player has not earned any EXP and spares all enemies in Section 3, they can backtrack to the cliff to find Mad Mew Mew, who is angry that she cannot admire the view in peace.
Gaster's Secret
A secret room featuring Gaster can be found if the player performs a Wrong Warp using the
Postcard before the chase with Sans (GG!Underfell). While the cutscene plays at the cliff, using the Postcard correctly will allow you to leave the room while it plays, teleporting Kris to a greyscale room that somewhat resembles the forest.
If Kris follows the path upwards, they can see Gaster through a window in LOSTCORE. He calls Kris clever to have found themselves in this place, but then says that they should not be there, before saying they aren't and that they should return to the forest and forget they ever saw him. Kris is then teleported back to the forest at the end of the chase near the bunny house.
Trivia
- The Forest of Wild Beasts is a new location to GG!Underfell, as it does not appear in Undertale.
- In the original GG!Underfell series, the Forest of Wild Beasts contains 5 Feraldrakes. In Deltatraveler however, only 4 Feraldrakes appear.
- When the trio walk in the dark of the forest, their neon sprites are the same as their respective Flavors.
- ↑ "Are you sure? I've read somewhere that humans have worse sight than most monsters. Maybe it would be a good idea to bring that torch with us." -Noelle, after saying 'I can see fine' when asked if you can see in the dark
- ↑ "I... don't have my lighter, so would y'all be willing to bring the torch over here? It'd be a bit too difficult to build this thing in the dark." -Q.C., when talking to her before the eastern ladder has been built without a torch
